Rimi is offering 200 jobs to Ukrainian refugees and asking customers to take part in support activities

To support the nation of Ukraine and those who have been forced to flee because of the military invasion of Russia, the Rimi chain of stores is offering 200 jobs to Ukrainian refugees throughout the Baltics, as well as introducing several opportunities for shoppers to support the people of Ukraine. Starting from the next week Rimi buyers can make donations to support Ukraine in the Rimi e-store or use their My Rimi money for this purpose. Also Ukrainian products are highlighted on store shelves, so that every shopper can help the Ukrainian economy with their daily product choices.

Rimi Baltic Bans Russian and Belarusian Goods From Its Stores

In solidarity with Ukraine and Ukrainians, many of whom are among Rimi Baltic employees and clients, as well as being strictly against the military aggression and a full-scale invasion of Ukraine that has been launched by Russia, one of the largest retail chains in the Baltic States, Rimi Baltic, has banned Russian and Belarusian goods from its stores.

Representative of Rimi’s mother company ICA Gruppen receives award for climate investment at COP26

At the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 in Glasgow on November 10th, ICA Gruppen, the mother company of Rimi, has received an award for its “Beyond Climate Neutrality” climate ambition. This award confirms the company’s efforts to achieve climate neutrality and to reduce the impact on the climate among suppliers and customers. Representatives of Rimi and ICA Gruppen also met with Lithuanian Minister of Environment, Latvian Minister of Environmental Protection and Regional Development and the adviser of Estonian Minister of Environment to discuss current issues and possible solutions to further reduce the environmental impact of the retail and food sectors.

Giedrius Bandzevičius new CEO of RIMI Baltic

On November 9th ICA Gruppen appointed Giedrius Bandzevičius as the new CEO of RIMI Baltic. He succeeds Edgar Sesemann, who after 14 years with RIMI and a total of 23 years with ICA Gruppen, has decided to retire. Giedrius Bandzevičius is currently country manager for RIMI in Lithuania, a role he has held since 2017.

Rimi’s mother company ICA Gruppen receives the United Nation Global Climate Action Award for its contribution to climate change

On the 6th of October the United Nations announced that ICA Gruppen has received an award for its “Beyond Climate Neutrality” climate ambition. The award will be presented in connection with the UN COP26 Climate Change Conference in Glasgow in November. ICA is being recognised for its work to achieve climate neutrality in its own operations and its ambition to at the same time drive change for reduced climate impact both upstream in the supply chain as well as downstream among consumers.
